Magic the Gathering: Philosophy that isn’t black-and-white

Recently I've delved deeper into the Color Wheel for their different outlooks on life, and with a critical look at Black and White mana in particular I've found it is possible to construct a fairly rational and realist approach to life by taking the best and avoiding the worst of each.

Earth-536.4.MD-6: A Europe of Civil Demon Settlers

On this Earth the states of the European Union seem largely normal from a distance. But in addition to the modern questions and issues of everyday immigration, a different racial influx has occurred within the last six and half years. Demons (interchangeably also called devils) have appeared from the lower planes into the mortal realm. …

Earth-536.3.AS-12: Astrologically-Ruled World of Divination and Twelve Divisions

One of mankind's oldest disciplines is watching the stars, hoping through various systems of divination to read their movements and correctly predict the truth about present and future events. Astrobiology, and Realistic Alien Design

Life on another planet may be very different from life familiar to us on Earth, but no matter where it lives, it must have the adaptations needed to survive in the environment it lives in. Consider the scientist in the picture here, looking into a hole in the ice at the arctic north. There is life underwater, in the cold and the dark, hanging upside down attached to frozen ice, which is quite alien and unfamiliar to most of us, and yet native to the Earth.
