A clockwork laborer is a recently invented mass-production construct designed to do manual labor for people. The clockworks are not particularly sturdy, made of common, lower, or even junk-quality metal, but are still made with magic, though not the typical higher-level spells that make most clockworks prohibitively expense for making a large workforce. The entrepreneurs that invented it claim it will revolutionize labor after the abolition of slaves, but many work hands complain that the machines will take all the jobs.
Though child-like in size and able to fit in tight spaces, they are surprisingly strong, comparable to an average adult human. Their plain, featureless faces display no signs of intelligence, and they walk slowly in a methodical gait, their movements angular and inorganic.
A clockwork laborer is just under 3 feet tall and weighs only 50 pounds.
